YTL Construction's civil engineering expertise include building a gas-fired combined cycle power plant in a record 22 months, a world record at the time, as well as building a 1.2m tonne per annum capacity state-of-the-art cement plant.

YTL Construction also undertook the civil engineering construction on the RM2.4 billion Express Rail Link Project in Malaysia on schedule and on budget.
