MARKETPLACE 2 November 2016
To us in YTL, investments in state-of-the-art infrastructure and utilities are crucial to achieving sustainable developments as reflected in our work. This is part of our commitment aligned with Goal 9 which is to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation.
As part of a broader effort to allow for rapid and sustained increases in living standards for all people, YTL Cement provides the technological solutions to environmentally sound industrialisation via innovative green cement products. Currently up to seven products are certified with the Singapore Environment Council’s Green Labelling Scheme and/or SIRIM’s Eco-Labelling Scheme. The green cements have been applied in many major infrastructure projects both locally and internationally, showing strong market acceptance of sustainable products. It is also their commitment to invest in product research and development to meet the challenges of different market segments whilst remaining aligned with the Global Goals.
Earlier this year, YTL Communications launched their high-capacity Yes 4G LTE internet service supporting multi-activities such as downloading and/or streaming movies, and making calls – all at the same time. More than RM4 billion has been invested in building the all-IP (Internet Protocol) network spanning 4,300 base stations covering 85% of Malaysia’s population. Complementing this latest powerful network, they also introduced the first of its kind fully fledged affordable Altitude 4G LTE smartphone. Both launches fulfilled one of Goal 9’s target, which is to increase access to information and communications technology and strive to provide universal and affordable internet access to all.
